Connect Churches with Communities:

Food for the Hungry’s Community to Community (C2C) partnership is a relationship between a community in the developing world and an American church. By getting personally involved with the poor, churches are able to work towards lasting change within the context of a strong relationship. FH strives to facilitate true transformation for both the American church and the international partner community. Click here to contact us about Community to Community.

Speak out:

You can “speak for those who cannot speak for themselves” (Prov 31:8) by making a child sponsorship presentation at your small group, Sunday School class or church. Or, consider encouraging your church to respond to God’s call to “do justice, love mercy and walk humbly” (Micah 6:8) by hosting a 6:8 Sunday. By helping get kids sponsored, you can make a lasting difference in the lives of children and communities all over the world. Click here to contact us about making a sponsorship presentation

Volunteer at events:

You can represent FH at concerts, festivals and other events. The FH Advocate Ministry sends a monthly newsletter with upcoming opportunities in your local area. Click here to become a part of the Food for the Hungry volunteer team.

Educate:

You can teach small or large groups at your church about God’s heart for the poor, the problem of poverty, and how Christians should respond. Poverty Unlocked is a four week curriculum that explores the roots of poverty. God’s Heart for the Poor Biblestudy is a hour long study about God’s perspective on poverty. Hungry Decisions takes a small group through life-altering choices the poor face daily. The Hunger Banquet gives people a “taste” of world poverty by feeding people according to how the world eats. Click here to order any of these materials.

Fundraise:

Advocate for a specific need by hosting an event or connecting with your friends and colleagues. Consider asking your Sunday School class or small group to purchase and assemble school supplies for impoverished children through Hope Packs. Invite your church, school or office to collect spare change for 6 weeks to raise money to fight HIV/AIDS in Africa through Change for Life.

Advocate with the government:

Write letters, make phone calls, and get your friends involved, using your voice to influence government leaders, To learn how can you advocate for public policy concerning Child and Maternal Health, HIV/AIDS and Global Hunger, click here. You can regularly receive emails about specific action steps you can take to advocate with the government. Click here to join our email list.
