About the TREK

Our second annual event will be held June 9-13, 2010. We will utilize the Walter Tishma Way (WTW) an Inn-to-Inn Hiking Footpath in Colorado from Estes Park to Allenspark that travels mostly through Rocky Mountain National Park.

The lodging is diverse and makes use of what can be accessed along the way, whether an intimate B&B, a historical lodge with small rooms and the bathroom down the hall, a rustic cabin, or a dude ranch. Each lodge provides dinner, breakfast and packed lunches. The Walter Tishma Way concludes with an overnight at the historic Allenspark Lodge.

Luggage will be left with your host and delivered to the next night's accommodation. All you need to carry for the day is a daypack. If for some reason you cannot hike on a particular day, you may go ahead with your luggage to the next destination.

Food for the Hungry along with Footpaths of the World a local outfitting company will provide lodging, meals and transport.

My husband David and I are the the owners of The Warming House, an outdoor outfitting store in Estes Park, Colorado in 1983. We have been in the outdoor retail business for 27 years (forever!) We also own Footpaths of the World. I originated the WTW and guide hiking and snowshoeing day trips as well as hiking trips in France and Switzerland. I will be leading this group of trekkers on parts of the Walter Tishma Way. I was a music teacher for 9 years before running the store full-time and I play the piano for the worship team at my church. I enjoy taking women on guided trips and am looking forward to being a part of the "50 for 50 Trek for Hope" I feel very blessed to be leading this group of women that are committed to bringing hope to the hard places.

I am looking forward to celebrating my 56th birthday on the trek!
