Food for the Hungry is accountable before God and man to be faithful stewards in effectively using the gifts we receive, providing the most help to impoverished people and communities. We work diligently to maintain integrity and transparency in our financial practices.
More than 93 percent of total income, including commodities, goes to field programs. As such, we ship donated goods using matching grants from governments and corporations, and cooperate with other organizations in pooling resources for the purpose of gaining efficiencies.
In addition, Food for the Hungry is a charter member of the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (EFCA) and abides by all of its strict accounting standards.

Financial Practices
As a Christian organization, Food for the Hungry is committed to practicing biblical standards of integrity and stewardship, and we believe we are fully accountable to God and man for effective and efficient use of donations.
Our financial statements are prepared in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. We obtain an annual audit in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards by an independent public accounting firm, Capin Crouse LLP. Copies of our current audited financial statements can be downloaded from our website or be viewed on any number of charity watchdog websites.
In addition, our Board appoints an audit committee comprised of Board members, who meet with the auditors, review the annual audit and report its findings to the Board.
Food for the Hungry is a registered 501c non-profit organization, and as such, all contributions to our ministry are tax deductible to the full extent allowed by law.
